Nicholas Jonas - Joy To The World/A Christmas Prayer
Every year at Christmas
All I can see
Are pictures of the things I want
Around the tree
But this year’s a little different
I’m not thinking of myself
So my prayer for this Christmas
Is for somebody else
(Chorus)
So I pray…
Joy To the World
Peace for every boy and girl
Hope when life is hard
Light when everything seems dark
God I know you’re listening
And you can hear
The need of every broken heart
And all their tears
I don’t have a lot to offer
Just this one simple prayer
That this Christmas everyone would know
Somebody cares…
(Chorus)
So I pray…
Joy To the World
Peace for every boy and girl
Hope when life is hard
Light when everything seems dark
I pray that every hungry soul
Will be filled and will be warm
That not a single, solitary child
Would suffer harm
And Lord we find their ending
As we take another view
My hope is that this Christmas prayer
Would somehow come true
I pray…
Humanity would rise
And join with me
And together we’ll sing
Joy To the World (To all the world)
Peace (Peace) for every boy and girl (for every boy and girl)
(Talking bout hope) Hope when life is hard (when life is hard)
Light when everything seems dark
I pray that (I pray) every hungry soul
Will be filled and will be warm
(Not a single child) That not a single, solitary child
Would suffer harm
And Lord we find their ending

Read an interesting news article on "Chocolate addiction leads to sweet discovery" Yahoo! about a week ago. Time for me to eat more chocolate.
#2:
Elsa posted this story the other day. It's a pretty amazing story between a father and his son. I love the line in the article that goes "All was given to him out of his father's love... "

Urbana is only a little more than a month away. I am excited even though I am so clueless about many details. Waiting to see what God has in store during those 5 days.
#4:
This hectic semester is almost over, only a few more weeks left. It has not been the greatest of semesters. Just got to keep on pressing onward.

Updated the template for the blog and the commenting thing I used to use is gone. Got to get it back.

Let there be light...
So it seems like the past week, this notion of light have been pretty prevalent everywhere i go. it started with halloween night, with our discussion about halloween and what Christian's should do to respond to it. then there was sunday school today where we were reading a passage from the Sermon on the Mount, the part where Jesus calls us to let our light shine. i was sharing with this with my class, when i was reading this passage im reminded of a scene with a little child and a night light. some kids who are young are afraid of the dark, they may feel scared, insecure and alone, causing them to not be able to sleep. But in the midst of darkness a light shines. from this little light, they are able to find rest. that little light gives the child comfort, peace, and a sense of security.
likewise we are called to do the same thing,
may we be a light that shines in this world of darkness
likewise we are called to do the same thing,
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." ~ Matthew 5:16
may we be a light that shines in this world of darkness

Good Morning World !
it's has been a long time since i've written here. it's just been a rough couple of weeks with school lately and now the worst of this semester as passed. i'm still lacking in sleep (im actually really sleepy right now),but last night felt so good though slept like a rock the whole night. last week i realize that a lot of ppl sleep really late and i have no idea how do these ppl do it regularly. i was like dying by the third night, i wasn't even thinking straight anymore.
definitely thanks to the ppl that were up n kept me awake, n those that yelled at me when they thought i was "slacking off". u guys will never read it but the cs group, thank you for sticking it out to the end.
halloween was definitely a good night, a group (some didomi counsellors, gloria, myself and some didomi-ers) went to bernard's house. we had dinner and were handing out candy with gospel tracts attached to them. had a really good discussion on halloween and what Christian's ought to do, so many of us were just told growing up that Christians shouldn't go get candy. one of the most memorable things from that night went something on the lines of "Halloween is the darkest night in the whole year, we ought to be that beacon of light and shine in the darkest."

"so others may live"
Went to see The Guardian on Sunday not the greatest movie in the world. Some parts could of been more dramatic and made more intense, but i still enjoyed it.
In the movie, Kevin Costner was teaching a bunch of new recruits on what it means to be a rescue swimmer for the US Coast Guard. And the motto for the rescue swimmers is "so others may live". "so others may live"...what does that even mean to you? Because to them it means to always be ready to put their own lives in danger to help others and to ultimately die so others do not have to. In the movie, it also talks about how the individuals couldn't really carry out their own lives because they were so occupy with their jobs.
This motto not only became a way of life for them. Imagine if it was for yours. Every decision you make does not depend on your own wants and needs, but somebody else's, someone you don't even know. To always be willing to sacrifice your time whether for studying or working or entertainment, and give it up because someone needs your help.
In the christian context, what happens if that someone was God. And that every decision we make depends on his desires and his plan. The decisions we make will ultimately affect whether others live or not.
During their training, the hardest lesson for the recruits to learn was that they cannot save them all but they are to save as many as possible.
