just for laughs...

so here's a little list of embarassing moments in my life:

i)
Date:
Nov. 23, 2006 Location: Don Mills Subway Station [Bus Terminal]
Scenario:
Like many bored commuters, I read the Metro newspaper whenever I can get a copy. When my bus had arrived to the station, I was still in the middle of reading my newspaper. I decided to not put the paper away, as I made my way off of the bus. Instead of stepping onto the platform, my foot went into the gap inbetween the bus and the platform. Resulting in me tripping over with both knees hitting the ground and my hands stopping my whole body landing on the floor. People waiting for the bus, quickly came over and asked if I was alright. I ,too embarassed too look at them, simply replied "Yes" and chuckled a bit and ran away hoping no one recognized me.

Nov. 25, 2006 Location: Milliken Park Community Recreation Centre (Where I work) Scenario: Each session of the preschool program, we would normally say bye to the kids and their parents. I was at the front desk at the centre, and was waiting for the parent to write something down. As I was waiting, I was talking to the child that was in the program. Her sibling was beside her. The conversation went something like this:

Tim (to child in program): Is that your little sibling?
Child: Yes
Tim (to little sibling): Does your big sister take care of you?
*little sibling does not respond*
Tim (to child in program): Do you take care of him?
*child nods*
Dad: It's a her.
Tim: Oh sorry, her toque covered her face a bit.
*Tim quickly runs away to the back office*

iii)

Nov. 29, 2006 [today] Location:UofT - CSC384 Lecture [class just ended]
Scenario:
Usually as soon as the class ends, I would leave asap because I have to catch the GO bus at Union. Most of the class has left already when I was walking out of the room. The prof was still packing up when I walked pass him. As I stepped pass him, the prof stops packing up and looks and me and says "YOU should really go to office hours. It is really helpful. The TA can answer any questions you may have or help you if you are having problems with the assignment." Keep in mind that my prof ignored the person infront of me and the person behind me, and had only stopped to talk to me. LOL my prof thinks I'm an idiot.

little clarification for the vid below...

it was an incident at UCLA that occurred around mid Nov.

a student was asked by the campus police to show his student ID...the student refused to show it because he felt he was subjected to racial profiling (he's Iranian-American)...and when he supposedly refused to leave the campus police use a taser on him...and from the video you can see that he was taser several times because he wasnt following the polices' orders...the other students were trying to get them to stop tasering him...and at the end of the video the guy said something on the lines of "leave or you will get taser too"

Tim haven't disappeared yet

it has been quite some time since i last updated..so please prepare yourself for a whole lot of randomness...

Read an interesting news article on "Chocolate addiction leads to sweet discovery" Yahoo! about a week ago. Time for me to eat more chocolate.

Elsa posted this story the other day. It's a pretty amazing story between a father and his son. I love the line in the article that goes "All was given to him out of his father's love... "

Urbana is only a little more than a month away. I am excited even though I am so clueless about many details. Waiting to see what God has in store during those 5 days.

This hectic semester is almost over, only a few more weeks left. It has not been the greatest of semesters. Just got to keep on pressing onward.

Let there be light...

So it seems like the past week, this notion of light have been pretty prevalent everywhere i go. it started with halloween night, with our discussion about halloween and what Christian's should do to respond to it. then there was sunday school today where we were reading a passage from the Sermon on the Mount, the part where Jesus calls us to let our light shine. i was sharing with this with my class, when i was reading this passage im reminded of a scene with a little child and a night light. some kids who are young are afraid of the dark, they may feel scared, insecure and alone, causing them to not be able to sleep. But in the midst of darkness a light shines. from this little light, they are able to find rest. that little light gives the child comfort, peace, and a sense of security.

likewise we are called to do the same thing,
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." ~ Matthew 5:16


may we be a light that shines in this world of darkness
