So the past weekend (may 20 - 22) was scac's 25th anniversary retreat at Georgian College in Barrie. It has to be the largest conference-type of event, I've ever been to. There was a total of 866 people from both the Chinese and English congregation at the retreat. I had a GREAT time just fellowshipping with people from both congregations, playing my first game of softball in like AGES, waiting endlessly for food, playing MAFIA in the wee hours of the night, watching Laputa, discussion after the english services, etc. The last message from the chinese main speaker was really encouraging. I thought the english services were really good, just looking deeper on what makes SCAC english congregation distinct and what the vision and mission of the church is. Other things that really stood out to me was Jon Lau's bday and how his friends just planned out the surprises for him. Also, how when we (the youth) took over the common room, and it was just such a gathering of people from different age groups in the church and just playing together.
All in all, this weekend was just a great reminder of the indescribable grace and incomparable love that God has pour onto SCAC the past 25 years.
