yesterday was chinese new year celebration at church. definitely good times. it was just so amazing to see so many ppl from the congregation come out for the event. originally we had set up seats for around 150 ppl. those seats were quickly filled and we had to scramble for more tables and chairs. more than 1/2 of the english congregation showed up and had a great time together. despite the fact that food was prepared for about 150 ppl, everyone left full and there were plenty of leftovers. we played some random games but everyone had a good laugh and enjoyed themselves. just before the whole event was over we celebrated pastor tim's birthday as well. we were definitely one big family that day.
on a side note: i once again lock my keys in my car. this time i was at church and my mom had to come all the way from home to save me. coincidentally i had to drive barry home n he didnt have keys to his home as well.

I do love You more than these
So, I did end up going to the 24/7 Prayer event. I somehow found myself heading to school early and found my way to Toronto Chinese Baptist Church (where it was held). It was just a great time. They had separated it into two rooms: one was directed for more personal prayer and the other was more praying for the school, the city and the world. I was there for an hour and stayed only in the personal prayer room. It was just great to spend that time in there, in stillness, quietness, and semi-darkness (took me awhile to find the light switch, good thing my cell had a built-in flashlight). Just sitting there and reading the Bible verses, song lyrics and poems on the walls really helped in gathering my thoughts and focus on God. Ever since I came back from Urbana, I haven't been spending time with Him and just being in that room for an hour yesterday, really brought me back to that place again, feeling His presence and that connection with Him. One of the walls had a lot of things about laying down our fears, burdens, idols and sins before Him. There was this one verse that was on the wall "Do you truly love ME more than these?" ~ John 21:15. I found myself sitting there for the longest time reading that verse over and over again, thinking of what are the things that have filled my life and my heart. My pride, my future, my sins, school and I just laid it all down before Him, and it felt great. Pray for me, pray that I will love Him more than those things. And that I will live an obedient life as an expression of my love for Him.
Here's something else i copied off the wall (didnt copy title or author though)

Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand.
But I know who hold tomorrow,
And I know who holds my hand.

GRRR to my absent-mindedness
Sometimes when I have many things to carry out of the car, I would forget to pull the car key out and lock myself out of my car.
This happened once again tonight luckily I was only like 5 mins away from my house. However, I still think my parents are pissed at me.
I'M AN IDIOT !

saw "the last kiss" tonight, this one line really spoke out to me and it went something like this
"Every a**hole can say they love someone. What you feel only matters to you. It's what you do to the people you love. That's what matters. That's the only thing that counts." ~ Stephenmay my actions speaker louder than my words, may my words be a true reflection of my heart.

First Camping Trip of 2007
so couple days after coming back from Urbana, i was off again to Woodland Trails with some of the st.john peeps for our first camping trip of the year. there was actually 3 divisions there including ourselves. luckily i had to work on saturday or else i would of froze my butt off for two nights. it was VERY cold at camp but for the short time i was there i had lots of fun, singing campfire songs (ma bee bu, ma bee bu, bee li ba la bop), sunday morning reflection time n first aid activity in complete darkness. they were so enthusiastic n had so much energy in everything it just made the camp so much more better. n apparently i missed a lot of good stuff too. o well here are two of the group pictures
