It's Not Your Light...
doing devotions at work today...n today's one was this..which i found to be quite thought provoking..it is taken from this website Deeper Devotion
It's Not Your Light
by Glenn Ansley
Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
"Let there be light." These were the first words spoken by our Father at the beginning of Creation. Proclaiming Him as "The light of the world," John captures our Lord's brilliance in the opening chapter of his gospel. In Heaven, we know that there will be no sun; the presence of God will be our eternal light.
Jesus has commanded you to let your light shine before men. The light to which He's referring comes not from a brilliance of your own making, but from the presence of the Holy Spirit dwelling within you. The presence of the same Father of Lights mentioned in the letter of James.
This radiation is a constant factor. It's a light that cannot be hidden. It shines forth from your bedroom at night, from your locker in the hallway. It is with you when you're alone and when you’re with your boyfriend or girlfriend. It's a city on a hill, not able to be hidden.
It is for this reason that you must make sure your light shines in a way that others may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven. The light they see is not your own. It's your Father's and it must be shown in a way that brings glory to His name.
How will people respond to your light today? Will you be ready if someone looks to respond? Are you even aware of which direction your light is shining, or have you forgotten this command of Christ all together?
Be purposeful in how you live today, “For you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).

a little prayer...
Lord,
be my voice, when i lack the words to speak
be my hands, when i do not know what to do
be my feet, when i have lost my way
be my strength, when i'm too weary to carry on
be my voice, when i lack the words to speak
be my hands, when i do not know what to do
be my feet, when i have lost my way
be my strength, when i'm too weary to carry on

eventful weekend =o)
so what can i say about the past weekend...
fri: didnt do much work at work....it was Sammy's last day and he is moving back to Vancouver with his gf..i do wish him the best and thank him for making work more fun than it is..for his farewell lunch..a bunch of us went to Taste of Japan..got back to the office at like 2pm then i left work at 3pm ..surely a relaxing day at work...got home and I finished packing then off we went to Minden, Ontario for the cottage trip w/ my family n family friends..there was about 40 of us..the place was alright..spacious and clean ! first night played poker w/ forks, spoons and knives as chips..so jokes...and i killed everyone hahaha
sat - sun: sat morning was freezzzzzzzzing..woke up nice and early as usual...during free time..went and walked around..so me, leo, kevin and francis went to the dock...and francis being the troublemaker he is...started to jump on the dock..then all i hear behind me was *SPLASH*..i turn and i see francis standing in the water..which led to the rest of us running as fast as we could off of that thing...LOL also the youth (well me, chris and fanny) led some games for everyone to play..oh man parents are so competitive its CRAZY !!! they are so GICK !!! also played some eyetoy..always fun to see uncles and aunties playing that thing so jokes..then some good ol' mafia afterwards...uncle arthur (jada's and jeremy's dad) is so good..he is pure trickery...jeremy sucks tho...and u know what else sucked..i got killed like first round for most of the game ..i will get my revenge on u guys hahaha...we also watched this chinese christian movie..which was pretty touching....sunday we had a speaker from hong kong which is also a friend of jada's parents and he just shared some thoughts with us...overall it was a good trip lots of chill time with everyone...and surely no generation gap at all
sun night: came back to toronto in the afternoon..n at night was the SCAC 25th anniversary banquet...it was just good to see everyone all dressed up...it was kool seeing the kids all dressed up..not so often get to see that...food was alright...the dessert was wicked...totally props to the ppl that planned/organized it...man banquet for a thousand ppl surely it must have been toughed...but it was a good nite..took pix..i think i only took like a few "normal" pictures where im smiling..
pix will be up soon enough...
sorry if n e one was looking for something deep..just hard to write it up for the whole weekend...too much stuff happened...ask me for details if u wanna..but one overall theme that came up this was "tim is mean"
